Shay Lo is the nickname of an avid Jennifer Lopez Mitchell fan who gained popularity among her friends. As a young girl, her interest in performance art increased. Her parents told her that one day she wanted to earn a living from it. In Toronto following a thriving career in dancing and modeling she decided to try acting a shot. Mitchell began her career with a string of commercials for television. After landing guest roles and some small roles in television, she scored her first big break in Pretty Little Liars when cast in the role of Emily Fields. Fans and critics alike praised the quality of her acting. Then, she made her mark in the film industry by starring in Dreamland and Mother's Day. The actress gained more fame due to her role in the Psychological drama series You. Alongside acting Shay Mitchell has also ventured into writing. She co-wrote the adult novel Bliss along with Michaela Blaney.
